Global health experts and economists will come together at Columbia University on February 19th to discuss ideas laid out in Global Health 2035, the report released in December by the Lancet Commission on Investing in Health, for which CDDEP serves as Secretariat. The discussion will focus in particular on the report s recommendation for pro-poor universal health coverage. or to register for the event.

Larry Summers, the chairman of the Lancet Commission on Investing in Health, presented the Global Health 2035 report s findings at an event called Global Health 2035: Implications for Economic Policy , which was held at the IMF on February 12th and chaired by IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde.

The U.S. announced its commitment to the goals of the Global Health Security Agenda, joining 26 countries and a number of international organizations in accelerating progress toward achieving more effective prevention, detection and treatment of infectious diseases. [HHS]
