Noncommunicable Diseases

Globally, diabetes, hypertension, cancer, and other noncommunicable diseases are the leading causes of death and disability. Combating these diseases requires addressing lifestyles, access to health care, and socioeconomic attributes that affect disease occurrence and severity. By focusing on fiscal policies for health and establishing a pioneering One Health and demographic health surveillance system (in Karnataka, India), One Health Trust researchers are giving policymakers tools to make informed decisions on the prevention, detection, and treatment of noncommunicable diseases.
