Dear Colleagues, Partners, and Friends,

As we reflect on 2025, we are filled with gratitude and hope. This past year marked meaningful growth at the One Health Trust, strengthened by our shared commitment to actionable research and initiatives that promote the health and well-being of everyone.

In advancing our mission to address the global challenge of drug resistance, the OHT-led Global Antibiotic Resistance Partnership (GARP) continued to champion preventive solutions such as immunization to curb antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and its underlying drivers. This year marked the publication of GARP policy briefs, which showcase the role of vaccines in AMR control strategies from teams in Uganda, Pakistan, Nepal, and South Africa. As a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre on AMR, we were proud to support Angola and Timor-Leste in evaluating and strengthening their national AMR strategies.

Through our collaboration with OxygenForIndia partners, we made important strides in improving access to medical oxygen. We expanded the National Medical Oxygen Grid and shared our experience and findings to help guide future efforts. To ensure optimal use of medical oxygen, we published the first guidelines that address how medical oxygen should be used in community health facilities outside urban settings in low- and middle-income countries.

Our research reached new audiences through publications in leading scientific and policy journals and coverage in major media outlets. We highlighted the often-overlooked social dimensions of AMR, including gender and disability; analyzed the largest retrospective AMR dataset in Africa; and used machine learning models to predict seasonal and emerging waves of respiratory viruses. We also explored the potential of vaccines in food-producing animals in an upcoming publication that will provide the first global estimates and analysis of vaccination coverage and incidence for over 100 diseases among livestock. Our team participated in important commissions that launched vital reports, including the Lancet Global Health Commission on Medical Oxygen Security and the EAT–Lancet Commission on Healthy, Sustainable, and Just Food Systems.

With a strong commitment to science communication, we continued to share knowledge widely through our weekly digest and episodes of the One World, One Health podcast. We featured a wide variety of experts, including best-selling author John Green, who discussed his new book Everything is Tuberculosis; Dr. Yehoda Martei, who talked about how AMR compromises our ability to treat cancer; and Dr. Peter Hotez, who mapped out how to fight the rise of anti-science. We were delighted to welcome the second cohort of our joint PhD program with BITS Pilani in Data Sciences for Global Health—an inspiring group poised to lead the future of global health research.

Looking ahead, we are energized by what 2026 holds. We expect the coming year to be a landmark one for the One Health Trust as we are set to open our new headquarters for One Health research, education, and action in Nimai Valley, India.

As you plan your end-of-year giving, we hope you will consider supporting OHT in advancing research, science communications, and One Health initiatives. We wish you and your loved ones a joyful holiday season and a healthy, hopeful start to 2026!

Warmest wishes,
The One Health Trust Team
