Overview
The kick-off meeting for the Global Antibiotic Resistance Partnership (GARP)–Kenya took place on March 15, 2024. The discussion highlighted Kenya’s growing challenge of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), driven in part by increasing antibiotic consumption. Following this meeting, the GARP–Kenya technical working group, a collaboration between the One Health Trust and Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), has been working to explore the role of vaccines in reducing unnecessary antibiotic use and to develop evidence-based policy recommendations for strengthening Kenya’s AMR response.
On this page, find the team’s policy brief, additional resources, and media on how vaccines can be leveraged to reduce the burden of AMR in Kenya.
