The Global Antibiotic Resistance Partnership (GARP)–Pakistan team held its online kickoff meeting on March 16, 2023.
Pakistan ranks third in antimicrobial consumption among low- and middle-income countries, with a sharp increase over recent decades contributing to the rise of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Since then, the GARP–Pakistan technical working group, a partnership between the One Health Trust and Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University (STMU), has been working to generate evidence and policy recommendations on leveraging vaccination as a tool to reduce inappropriate antibiotic use and strengthen Pakistan’s AMR response.
On this page, you will find resources and information on how vaccines can be leveraged to reduce the spread and impact of AMR in Pakistan.
