What we found
AMFm has been successful in significantly lowering the price of artemisinin combination treatments (ACTs) in six out of the eight pilot countries. This has allowed increased access to working malaria treatments while curbing the use of other, less effective drugs.
Why it matters
Every year, malaria causes around 650,000 deaths worldwide. It is crucial that drugs to treat malaria remain accessible, affordable, and effective.
