About This Job

The One Health Trust (OHT) seeks a Program Manager to help shape and coordinate programs, residencies, retreats, partnerships, and convenings at Nimai Valley. The Program Manager will work across programming, institutional partnerships, business development, and event coordination to support intellectually engaging and mission-driven gatherings.

This role requires strong organizational and relationship-building skills, thoughtful judgment in program curation, and the ability to coordinate with diverse stakeholders across academia, policy, civil society, philanthropy, and the private sector. The position is based at Nimai Valley in Chikkaballapur, Karnataka, India.

Built around sustainability and intellectual exchange, Nimai Valley hosts residencies, seminars, retreats, and collaborative programs that encourage meaningful engagement across disciplines. The campus is currently being developed as a net-zero space for water, energy, and carbon.

Role Overview

The Program Manager is both Nimai Valley’s external representative and internal program architect. The role combines program curation, partnership development, operational coordination, and strategic planning to support high-quality events, retreats, and residency programs.

The ideal candidate will understand how to create meaningful intellectual gatherings while also supporting occupancy goals, partnerships, budgeting, and long-term program growth.

The Program manager reports to the General Manager of Operations and the Executive Director of Programs.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage Nimai Valley’s annual events, retreats, and residency calendar.
  • Coordinate seminars, workshops, fellowships, partner convenings, and interdisciplinary programs.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with academic institutions, think tanks, foundations, nonprofits, and corporate partners.
  • Design intellectually engaging and mission-aligned event formats and residency experiences.
  • Lead coordination for on-campus events and collaborate with operations and hospitality teams.
  • Support outreach, institutional engagement, and business development activities.
  • Develop event packages, partnership proposals, and program documentation.
  • Coordinate residency calls, selection processes, onboarding, and participant engagement.
  • Facilitate discussions, peer exchanges, seminars, and invited talks during residency periods.
  • Track participation, outcomes, and engagement metrics across programs and events.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, occupancy goals, and long-term growth initiatives.
  • Represent Nimai Valley and the One Health Trust in meetings, events, and partnership discussions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in public policy, communications, international development, management, liberal arts, public health, environmental studies, or related fields;
  • five to seven years of experience in program management, partnerships, academic administration, events, residencies, or institutional engagement;
  • experience working in research institutes, universities, foundations, think tanks, nonprofits, hospitality, or international organizations preferred;
  • strong organizational, communication, and project management skills;
  • ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate across teams and stakeholders;
  • experience developing partnerships, outreach strategies, or institutional collaborations;
  • strong writing, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills;
  • interest in interdisciplinary work related to global health, sustainability, climate, environment, policy, arts, or innovation;
  • and the ability to work independently in a dynamic and evolving environment.
