The Question: How many deaths in India each year are attributable to malaria?
What We Found: Our adjudicated results show 205,000 malaria deaths per year in India before age 70 years, a substantially higher number than the World Health Organization’s estimate of 15,000 per year.
Why It Matters: Accurate estimates of malaria mortality are essential in better informing disease control strategies.
