This map shows the countries that have reported plasmid-mediated colistin resistance conferred by mcr-1.

The sources of origin (humans, animals, and the environment) of such isolates are color-coded. The data were obtained from a review of current literature on plasmid-mediated colistin resistance by CDDEP Director Ramanan Laxminarayan and co-authors, published in the International Journal of Infectious Diseases.
