Rishiraj Bhagawati is a Senior Research Analyst based in Bangalore, India.

At the One Health Trust, Mr. Bhagawati manages programs and supports ongoing research initiatives. He coordinates the Global Antibiotic Resistance Partnership (GARP) across five Asian countries—Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Vietnam, and India—and provides support to African partner countries involved in this project. His work includes conducting qualitative stakeholder interviews for both research and policy-focused projects, analyzing data through thematic methods, identifying grant opportunities, drafting proposals, preparing ethics submissions for fieldwork, and contributing to academic writing and publications.

Before joining OHT, Bhagawati worked as a research consultant/analyst on various projects around health and nutrition, funded by organizations including Irish Aid, the World Health Organization, and the Lancet & Financial Times Commission on Governing Health Futures 2030. Before pursuing his Master’s degree, he spent nearly three years as a journalist with national publications in India, covering stories around health, science, technology, and policy.

Bhagawati received a Master’s of Arts in Development Studies from the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex, a post-graduate diploma in Journalism from IIJNM, Bangalore, and a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from St Xavier’s College, Mumbai.

His interests include employing qualitative research methods in studies around health and nutrition equity, especially in contexts of low- and middle-income countries.
