Rishiraj Bhagawati is a Senior Research Analyst based in Bangalore, India.

At the One Health Trust, Mr. Bhagawati primarily provides research support in existing projects at OHT. These projects include studies around vaccine hesitancy in Karnataka, India, mental health of working women in China and India, and the design of malaria elimination programs in India. He also provides support in ongoing processes, such as in the setting up of the Institutional Ethics Committee at OHT.

Prior to joining OHT, Mr. Bhagawati worked as a research consultant/analyst on various projects around health and nutrition, funded by organizations including Irish Aid, the World Health Organization, and the Lancet & Financial Times Commission on Governing Health Futures 2030. Prior to receiving his Master’s degree, Mr. Bhagawati worked as a journalist for almost three years, covering stories around health, science, technology, and politics for national publications in India.

Mr. Bhagawati received a Master’s of Arts in Development Studies from the Institute of Development Studies (IDS), University of Sussex, a post-graduate diploma in Journalism from IIJNM, Bangalore, and a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from St Xavier’s College, Mumbai.

His interests include employing qualitative research methods to studies around health and nutrition equity, especially in contexts of low- and middle-income countries.
