The One Health Trust (OHT) and the Nepal Public Health Foundation (NPHF), organized the Global Antibiotic Resistance Partnership (GARP) Nepal in-person workshop on antimicrobial resistance and vaccines on January 11, 2024.

Experts from several public health institutions joined the discussion on using vaccines in the fight against antimicrobial resistance in the country, including NPHF, the National Immunization Technical Advisory Group (NITAG), the Department of Health Services, the National Public Health Laboratory (NPHL), and the Oxford University Clinical Research Unit (OUCRU), among others.

The workshop, held in the capital city of Kathmandu, included presentations and discussions that touched upon the burden of drug resistance in the human and animal sectors in Nepal, the importance of leveraging national immunization programs in AMR strategies, and ways to convey the recommendations of this forum to policymakers.
