Gilbert Osena is a Research Analyst based in Nairobi, Kenya.

At the One Health Trust, Mr. Osena serves as a data analyst in the Mapping Antimicrobial Resistance and Antimicrobial Use Partnership project funded by the Fleming Fund that seeks to establish a system for the collection, storage, and analysis of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and antimicrobial use (AMU) data across Africa. In MAAP, he is tasked with analyzing and mapping AMR trends in the African continent. In addition, he contributes to the coding of the IndiaSIM agent-based modeling that seeks to simulate disease spread among children in India and the effects of potential interventions such as vaccinations.

Mr. Osena holds a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Biotechnology and a Master of Science in Genetics, both from the University of Nairobi.

His research interests include epidemiology, disease modeling, AMR surveillance, and public health advocacy.
