Leshma Manogna

Dr. Ramappagari Leshma Manogna is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics and Finance at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.

At BITS Pilani, Dr. Manogna’s research focuses on corporate finance, financial econometrics, financial inclusion, and sustainable development. Her work explores the intersection of finance and development, with an emphasis on real-world policy and market applications.

Dr. Manogna received her PhD in Commodity Markets from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, K. K. Birla Goa Campus, India. She also holds a Master of Business Administration in Analytics and Finance from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering from BITS Pilani, Hyderabad campus.

Her work has been recognized with several awards, including the Director’s Young Investigator Award, 2025, the Young Woman Researcher in Commodity Markets award, 2025, and the “Her Research, Our Future” recognition by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, and the Indian Council of Social Science Research, 2024. She has also received the Young Scientist Award, 2021, and was awarded the University 3rd Rank, Bronze Medal at Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai, India.
