Celia Nalwadda is an Affiliate Researcher at OHT and a science translation specialist based in Uganda. She serves as a Principal Research Officer at the Uganda National Academy of Sciences, where she supports evidence-informed policymaking and scientific advisory initiatives.

Nalwadda holds a master’s degree from Cranfield University in the United Kingdom, a postgraduate diploma from the University of Helsinki in Finland, and a bachelor’s degree from Makerere University in Uganda. With more than 12 years of experience working within the national academy of sciences, she has expertise in systematic research, scientific report writing, and the development and coordination of policy advisory expert committees.

She has led and supported several national policy advisory committees, including the National Immunisation Technical Advisory Group, the Standing Committee on Malaria Vaccine, the Standing Committee on Antimicrobial Resistance, and the Program for Strengthening the Capacity of the Research Division of the Parliament of Uganda. She also collaborates with academic institutions, government agencies, international research organizations, businesses, and other national academies to strengthen the use of scientific evidence in policy and practice.
