An article published in The Financial Express covers the “Antimicrobial Resistance and Vaccines Workshop – Bangladesh” held in Dhaka and organized by the International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (icddr,b) and the Global Antibiotic Resistance Partnership (GARP), an initiative led by OHT to promote actionable policies to control the emergence and spread of drug resistance.

With a presentation on “Communicating the value of vaccines to address AMR—Evidence from Bangladesh,” OHT’s Rishiraj Bhagawati highlighted GARP’s focus on linking antimicrobial resistance to global immunization.

He said, “GARP currently is focusing on linking AMR to the issue of immunization around the world. By immunizing, not only the disease burden gets reduced, but also antimicrobial resistance among the population can be reduced.”
