In Nature Communications, OHT’s Dr. Ramanan Laxminarayan and other experts discussed how the Trump administration could impact global health.
In the article, Dr. Laxminarayan proposed creating a Global Antibiotic Access Facility to improve worldwide access to effective antibiotics. This plan would save lives, encourage the use of antibiotics guided by diagnostics and surveillance, and boost investment in new antibiotics by creating markets for U.S.-based biotech companies. The entire initiative could be implemented for under a billion dollars a year.
