In New Vision‘s coverage on rising AMR-related deaths in Uganda, Prof. Denis Byarugaba, President of the Uganda National Academy of Sciences, addressed the urgency of addressing antibiotic overuse in the country, during a Policy and Research Roundtable held on June 18, 2025, in Kampala. Experts highlighted the importance of integrating vaccination into strategies to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The event was co-hosted by the Global Antibiotic Resistance Partnership (GARP)-Uganda and the Uganda National Academy of Sciences at the Golden Tulip Hotel.
