On February 20, the One Health Trust and The Trinity Challenge hosted a workshop in Bangalore to address the urgent need for equitable access to quality antibiotics and to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The workshop brought together experts from healthcare, veterinary science, research, and policy to address two key challenges in antibiotic access—stock management and the issue of substandard or falsified antibiotics. These challenges affect both human and animal health. The discussions focused on developing data-driven strategies to improve antibiotic availability and ensure their responsible use.

The event coincided with the launch of a £1 million Innovation Competition on Community Access to Effective Antibiotics by The Trinity Challenge, a global initiative that leverages data and analytics to predict, detect, and respond to global health challenges. The challenge supports tech-based solutions to improve antibiotic access, particularly in low- and middle-income countries.
