What we found
Methods for controlling antimicrobial resistance in developing countries include educating healthcare professionals about resistance, establishing guidelines for these professionals, improving quality control of antimicrobial agents, and incentivizing research on new drugs.
Why it matters
Antimicrobial resistance is becoming more and more of an issue in developing countries where the prevalence of infectious diseases is already high. By taking the correct precautions to prevent resistance, we can alleviate the burden of illness in these places.
