Dr. Almahamoudou Mahamar is an Affiliate Researcher at OHT and a pharmacist, scientist, and malaria researcher based in Mali. His work focuses on antimalarial drug resistance and implementation research across sub-Saharan Africa.

Dr. Mahamar holds a master’s degree in Entomology-Parasitology and a PhD in Health Sciences from the University of Sciences, Techniques and Technologies of Bamako. His research centers on evaluating the effectiveness of antimalarial therapies, monitoring drug resistance markers, and strengthening evidence-based strategies for malaria prevention and control.

He has also contributed to research on antimicrobial resistance and One Health approaches, emphasizing the connections between human, animal, and environmental health in addressing infectious diseases. Through collaboration with international research institutions and public health partners, Dr. Mahamar works to advance translational research and develop evidence-based solutions that inform policy and improve health outcomes.
