Sandesh Kamath

Dr. K. Sandesh Kamath is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, India.

At BITS Pilani, Dr. Kamath focuses on research and teaching in artificial intelligence (AI) and deep learning, with particular interests in trustworthy AI, responsible AI, and AI for social good. His work explores how advanced AI systems can be developed and applied in ways that are ethical, reliable, and impactful in real-world settings.

Dr. Kamath received his PhD in Computer Science from the Chennai Mathematical Institute, India, and holds a Master of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India.

He has received several recognitions for his work, including the Microsoft Research Postdoctoral Fellowship (2020–2023), the Best Paper Award at CODS-COMAD, and outstanding reviewer awards at the British Machine Vision Conference 2024 and 2025.
