Brian Mhando was a Summer 2024 intern at the One Health Trust, based in New York City, United States.

Brian worked with Dr. Srikanth Reddy under the supervision of Dr. Deepshikha Batheja on a project examining how gender dynamics influence antimicrobial resistance. As part of his internship, he designed a 300-question survey implemented in Chikballapur, Karnataka, India, to study these dynamics in depth.

Mahndo has a bachelor’s degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Princeton University, and minors in Global Health and Health Policy, African Studies, and African American Studies.

Brian’s research interests include health systems in low-income countries, antimicrobial resistance, health inequities, and neglected tropical diseases. He is also recognized as a Princeton University Global Health Scholar.
