What is the spatial distribution of malaria risk around the world?
High levels of malaria endemicity are found in Africa, and low endemicity is found in the Americas and Central and Southeast Asia, but areas of high transmission still exist in these regions.
The map can be used, along with future maps, to monitor the progress of malaria control and elimination programs around the world.
